La paroisse de Saint Bernard fut avertie en 2001 que le support financier pour maintenir l’édifice, l’Église, était terminé. La paroisse n’était plus capable de maintenir son support. Alors la Société Héritage Saint Bernard fut fondée par un groupe de paroissiens pour ramasser des fonds afin de maintenir l’édifice en centre communautaire et culturel. L’édifice mérite d’être sauvé. Elle fut construite pendant une trentaine d’année par des paroissiens avec très peu de moyens. L’édifice est un monument historique acadien.En septembre 2018, Agence du Revenu du Canada nous a accordé le statut d'exemption fiscale à titre d'organisme de bienfaisance enregistré en vertu de la Loi de l'Impôt sur le revenu.  Les personnes qui nous feront un don recevront un reçu pour fin d'impôt.
Déjà beaucoup a été accompli: des toits réparés, fournaise remplacée, nouvelle entrée au sous-basement, fuites d’eau réparées, peinture etc.

Our History
The parish of Saint Bernard was told in 2001 that the financial support to maintain the edifice, the Church, was finished. The parish was no longer able to maintain its support. Then the Société Héritage Saint Bernard was founded by a group of parishioners to raise funds to maintain the building as a community and cultural center. The building deserves to be saved. Its construction of thirty years was accomplished by the  parishioners with very little means. The building is an Acadian historic building. In September 2018, Canada Reveny Agency granted us tax-exempt status as a registered charity under the Income Tax Act. Donors will receive a tax receipt.
Already much has been accomplished: roofs repaired, furnace replaced, new entry to the sub-basement, repaired water leaks, painting etc.
